When you print from your browser, you can control the size and layout of the pages you wish to print.

  1. Select Print Preview from the File pull down menu in your browser. (Up at the top of your screen.)
  2. Select Page Setup. In Netscape it says page setup. In Internet Explorer it's an icon of a page with a gear on it found right next to the word Print.
  3. Change the layout of page using landscape or portrait depending on the page layout that works best for what you are printing. With the calendar landscape will work best.
  4. You can also change the margin widths on the page. To use as much of your paper as possible set them to 0.2. 0.5 is a half inch of space around the edge. The margins will reset to match your printer minimum margins if you make them smaller than your printer allows. Close the page setup box when you're done making these changes.
  5. In your browser window, in Netscape, change the Scale or percentage of the page so that the amount of content you want to fit on the page fits. Remember that as your percentage gets smaller, so does the text on the page. You may also choose to make the percentage larger, but be careful that you don't end up cutting off some of your content. Printers vary, so the percentage that will work for your setup may be different from someone else's. Play with it until you get it to fill the page the way you want. You may need to scroll right and left and up and down to see what's happening to your page, but the printed page will be what you see in the white rectangle not what you see on your screen without scrolling (although if your screen resolution is high enough you may see the entire page.)
  6. In your browser window in Internet Explorer, the percentages are set (you can't make them a custom size) and may not print the calendar for you on a single page for your printer. By changing to the smallest percentage, you will be able to print all the information, but it will print on two pages. This happens in months where one or more of the dates has lots of activities listed. It makes the whole page longer. Play with the percentages to find something that will work for you.
  7. By playing with the settings in page setup, you should be able to arrive at a printed page that is useful to you. Once you have the settings you want, select the print button and continue with the normal routine for your particular printer. Make note of the settings you used, so that next month you won't have to mess about with it as much.
